Student Workers receive supervision from a Treatment Plant Operator or higher-level classification and are assigned basic tasks related to treatment plant operations. Typical assignments include housekeeping duties, routine preventative maintenance, and recording measurements and calculations. Student Workers will be given opportunities to shadow various operations activities. Student Workers work part-time and the number of hours worked per week will be determined based on the student's class schedule and the Districts' needs. Opportunities may be offered at our Lancaster, Long Beach, Los Coyotes (Cerritos), Palmdale, Pomona, San Jose Creek (Whittier), Saugus, Whittier Narrows (El Monte), A.K. Warren Water Resource Facility (Carson), and Valencia wastewater treatment plants. - MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Eligibility:
Student worker applicants must be enrolled in at least one college level course or correspondence course that is directly applicable to a career in treatment plant operations.
