Accounts Payable Specialist Santa Rosa, CA. Temp to hire Schedule Monday-Friday Hours: 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Pay-up to $30/hr We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly capable Accounts Payable Specialist to join a premier residential construction organization known for delivering high-end, detail-driven projects. This role is ideal for a proactive and adaptable professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable managing a wide range of responsibilities within the accounting function. The ideal candidate brings strong Accounts Payable experience within the construction industry, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while supporting multiple aspects of financial operations. Key Responsibilities Manage full-cycle Accounts Payable processing Review invoices, perform job cost coding, and complete data entry Review contracts and budgets; process change orders (C - Os) Maintain vendor relationships and handle communications Perform bank and account reconciliations Process subcontractor payments and coordinate compliance requirements Track and follow up on compliance documentation (lien releases, waivers, COIs) Maintain organized filing systems and accurate records Provide light Accounts Receivable support as needed Assist with general accounting and administrative tasks Required Skills & Experience Prior Accounts Payable experience within the construction industry Experience in high-end residential or commercial construction environments highly preferred Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems (experience with Sage 300 required; Procore a plus) Strong understanding of: Subcontractor billing processes Compliance documentation (COIs, liens, waivers) Account reconciliations Some exposure to Accounts Receivable preferred Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Self-motivated with the ability to work independently Education/ Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (or equivalent work experience) 2 years of Accounts Payable experience preferred Construction accounting experience strongly preferred Experience working with subcontractors, vendor management, or job cost accounting environments is a plus Experience in a high-volume AP environment preferred If interested please call 707-575-5005 or email resume to aracely@starhr.com
