Position description

UCSB Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) at the University of California, Santa Barbara invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary, part-time Instructor Assistants to support instruction in TMP X101 – Introduction to Technology Management.
Instructor Assistant duties include:

  • Provide in-class and out-of-class support to the instructor
  • Assist with grading, preparing course materials, and managing logistics
  • Coordinate with students on scheduling, assignments, and course-related questions
  • Support use of Canvas, Zoom, and other instructional technologies
  • Track attendance and maintain course records

Appointments are temporary, part-time, and non-tenure track, offered on a course-by-course basis. Screening of applicants begins immediately after the Initial Review Date has passed; some appointments may begin as early as the 2026 summer quarter

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related professional field
  • Minimum of one quarter of experience in an instructional support role (such as reviewing material with students, helping with record keeping, or preparing lessons), OR six months of professional experience in a relevant field, OR completion of a formal course in a relevant professional field.
Preferred qualifications
  • Prior experience in a teaching or instructional support role
  • Familiarity with UCSB instructional systems (Canvas, Zoom, etc.)
  • Background in technology management, business, or a related field
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
