Job Summary

Under the direction of the Chief of School Police Services or designee, receive, evaluate, and act upon emergency and non-emergency telephone and radio calls; monitor and dispatch appropriate District personnel; monitor a variety of safety and security equipment; maintain a variety of logs and records using a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system. Take appropriate action for protection of property and personnel.

Requirements / Qualifications

Instructions: Complete an online EDJoin application and attach all required documents. Incomplete applications will not be considered for an interview. In addition, applicants are required by law to complete the Mandatory Employment Disclosure by listing all previous Local Education Agency (LEA) employment, including school districts, county offices of education, charter schools, and state special schools. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Three years of customer service experience in demanding, fast-paced environment requiring multi-tasking and independent judgement skills or a combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to successful completion of the P.O.S.T. certified dispatcher basic academy. Recent, full-time or equivalent part-time, paid, civilian or military experience in radio dispatching, public emergency information systems, or law enforcement or experience in a public safety Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) radio communication department is highly desirable. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: - Possess or have the ability to obtain Pass a Peace Officer’s Standards and Training (POST) basic Public Safety Dispatcher certificate within one year of employment. - Successful completion of P.O.S.T Public Safety Dispatcher course within last 3 years. (MUST SUBMIT PROOF OF COMPLETION OF COURSE) - Typing/keyboarding certificate at a net, corrected speed of 30 words per minute. - Successfully pass a computerized skills assessment test.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS: - Proof of successful completion of P.O.S.T. Public Safety Dispatcher course within the last 3 years - High School Diploma - Typing/keyboarding certificate (Reflecting a net, corrected speed of 30 words per minute) - Resume - - Please attach documents listed above as applications missing attachments will be considered incomplete and therefore will not be considered for an interview. In Lieu of the High School Diploma we will accept the following: Proof of BA Degree (Attach copy of degree or transcripts with degree posted) This position requires a valid High School Diploma or valid equivalency established by an accredited institution/agency within the United States. Applications that do not include a valid degree/HS Diploma will not be considered. If you would like to receive credit for a foreign degree, you may submit your foreign degree to an approved education evaluation service. Any cost of evaluation is the candidate’s responsibility.
