- About the Position
The Department of Social Services (DSS) is seeking a temporary Administrative Officer to support the coordination of Department-wide Training initiatives. This recruitment is to fill a temporary position limited to 960 working hours in a fiscal year. Work hours may vary based on business needs up to a maximum of 40 hours per week. In general, temporary employees are not eligible for County-sponsored benefits and may have limited benefit options available to them.
Under direction, this Administrative Officer position would perform a variety of professional-level duties to manage the following DSS Department-wide Training initiatives:- Coordinate the LEAD mentorship program, Strategic Planning efforts, and other department development programs.
- Provide direction, coordination and support to Staff Development Administrative Assistants (AAs) in the execution of training activities and program logistics.
- Ensure Department-wide compliance with mandatory training requirements for DSS staff.
- Build and maintain a consistent training approach to strengthen staff skills and support overall Department effectiveness.

A combination of education, training, and experience resulting in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of qualifying education and experience includes:Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in business or public administration, accounting, or a closely related field. In addition, two years of experience as an Administrative Services Coordinator or other progressively responsible paraprofessional experience in human resources, finance or accounting, or other administrative functions.
