This role can be based in our New York City, San Francisco, Sunnyvale, or Mountain View office.

The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team.

The Creative team is looking for a Creative Director, Copy to help define how LinkedIn shows up in the world.

This is a role for someone who leads with ideas. Writing is your craft, but your impact comes from how you shape thinking, build narratives, and push work to a higher standard.

You’ll work across brand and marketing to turn insight into creative that connects with real people, work that feels clear, human, and culturally relevant.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate strategy and insight into creative platforms, campaigns, and narratives
  • Lead concept development from the earliest stages through execution
  • Write and oversee copy across channels—brand, marketing, video, and more
  • Shape and evolve LinkedIn’s voice, ensuring it feels consistent, human, and distinctive
  • Work side by side with design, strategy, and marketing from the very beginning—co-creating ideas, shaping briefs, and influencing the direction of the work before it’s defined
  • Push for simplicity and clarity, especially in how we express complex or abstract ideas
  • Bring others into the work early—aligning, influencing, and elevating ideas so the best thinking wins
  • Present creative with clarity and conviction, helping teams and stakeholders see not just what works, but what’s worth making
  • Mentor and guide writers, raising the bar for thinking, craft, and creative ambition across the team

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience in copywriting and creative leadership
  • BA/BS degree in design, marketing, or related field experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • A portfolio that demonstrates original thinking, strong creative instincts, and range across formats
  • The ability to shape ideas early, not just execute against a brief
  • Ability to translate insight into ideas that resonate culturally and emotionally
  • A clear voice and point of view, with the range to adapt across audiences, formats, and moments
  • Experience building work that is strategically grounded, creatively sharp, and culturally aware
  • Strong editorial judgment and high standards for craft and detail
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and driving creative decisions
  • A track record of elevating both the work and the people around you
  • The judgment to know when to push, when to refine, and when to keep going until the work is truly right

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $149,000 to $233,000.

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.

The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans. For more information, visit
