Job Summary
The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for a Human Resources Analyst - Confidential.
Under general direction, the Human Resources Analyst - Confidential performs specialized analytical and technical work in support of the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) Human Resources division, including the analysis, reconciliation, and validation of human resources–related data; supports recruitment and selection processes; compiles and analyzes workforce and recruitment data to resolve complex reporting and compliance issues; provides lead guidance and technical expertise to employees; and promotes accuracy and accountability by reviewing, auditing, and improving assigned human resources functions and processes.
The current assignment is located at 6401 Linda Vista Road, San Diego, CA 92111 as part of the Human Resource Services division within SDCOE and will focus primarily on classified recruitment and related activities. This position will also support research and preparation for bargaining unit activities including negotiations.
Please note that while this current assignment is for the location listed, employees of SDCOE may be administratively reassigned to other locations based on organizational needs.
Requirements / Qualifications
This position requires a combination of education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or related field and three (3) years of progressively responsible experience working in a human resources department in a public agency. Experience must include working in one of the following areas: recruitment, HR operations, benefits and/or workers’ compensation. Experience must include serving clients with a high level of interpersonal contact and using independent judgment.
This position is part of the SDCOE confidential support employee group and will receive all rights and benefits of SDCOE confidential employees, including a 5% confidential stipend.

Type of examination(s) for this classification:

Tentative Examination Dates: Technical Performance Examination (07/01/2026), Oral Examination (07/07/2026)
The results of this recruitment will be used to establish two eligibility lists, one promotional and one open, to fill the current vacancy and any other vacancies in this classification for the next six (6) months, or until the list is exhausted. Candidates from the promotional list will be exhausted before certifying candidates from the outside list.
Please note selection interviews are tentatively scheduled to take place in person on 07/14/2026.
