The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) is currently recruiting to fill the limited-term position of Online Instructor for Education Specialists in the Teacher Effectiveness and Preparation (TEP) Unit. The Online Instructor provides online instruction in statewide teacher credentialing and professional growth programs.

This limited-term position may be asked to:

  • Teach assigned courses as specified in the schedule and course contract
  • Develop and revise course objectives, activities, tasks, and materials based on curriculum
    requirements provided by the TEP leadership team
  • Deliver course content using a variety of instructional strategies that are inclusive and model the California Standards for the Teaching Profession
  • Facilitate candidate participation and student discussions to support them in active engagement by providing valuable and relevant feedback and coaching as outlined in the instructor agreement
  • Collaborate with program instructors to ensure consistency and continuity in candidate support and expectations
  • Work in cooperation with staff, administration, and other agency personnel to establish an
    effective academic program.
  • Be available for candidate consultation through office hours or scheduled appointments by phone, email, or virtual meetings.
  • Attend scheduled instructor meetings, professional development, and other assigned meetings as required.

This position requires experience working with or teaching students and/or adults in person, online or in a hybrid. In addition, assignments require experience, a California teaching credential, and/or training specific to the assigned instructional setting.
