THE OPPORTUNITY
The Mealsite Coordinator coordinates the delivery of meal service at a senior center meal site and provides for necessary clean up of food service areas.
The selected candidate will have the opportunity to:- Work closely with other center staff to coordinate food service program with other activities including supportive services.
- Ensure that food service meets acceptable health and program standards.
- Prepare, clean and set up table areas for meal service, check meal service equipment and operate steam table.
- Coordinate the work of, assigns, and trains volunteers and part-time staff in meal service methods
- Act as host/hostess and is responsible for client registration and collection of monies and related recordkeeping.
- Assist in actual food service and may relieve in kitchen for meal preparation and/or clean up.

Ideal Candidate Statement
The County of El Dorado Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) Senior Nutrition program is looking for a friendly and hard-working Mealsite Coordinator with a background in food service and a strong commitment to customer service and helping others. The Senior Nutrition program provides a high volume of nutritious hot lunches every weekday (excluding paid holidays) to local seniors aged 60 and older, at seven lunch sites and also uses volunteers to coordinate the delivery of meals to the homes of some older adults. Mealsite Coordinators help to make sure everything runs smoothly on a daily basis and play a key role in ensuring the success of the program. The position works with a dynamic and positive team in the main kitchen to help prepare food, pack meals, and clean up. They also work on their own as a lead at one of the lunch sites, which requires them to: drive a County vehicle in all weather conditions; open and close the remote lunch site; finish preparing, portioning, and serving lunches; greet people, check them in, and collect voluntary payments; clean up and wash dishes; and work closely with program supervisors to help solve any problems, if needed. The ideal candidate is someone who is positive, flexible, and likes working in a busy place. They should be dependable, pay attention to details, follow program guidelines, and enjoy getting to know and helping older adults in the community.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

The County of El Dorado is recruiting applicants for Mealsite Coordinator. This recruitment will establish a list for the purpose of filling current and future full time, part time and extra help vacancies for at least three (3) months. In accordance with Personnel Rules 1103.1 and 1105.1, an extra help or limited term employee may be transitioned into a regular employee if the department in which the employee works has a vacant allocated position for the same classification as held by the extra help or limited term employee and the appointing authority requests such transfer.
