Join a dynamic team at a world-class institution, where you'll combine fieldwork and office tasks to create comprehensive campus maps. This internship involves using state-of-the-art surveying equipment and aerial imagery to map key campus features, including roads, pathways, planting beds, water features, and other landscape elements. You'll employ cutting-edge software such as ESRI, ArcGIS, and AutoCAD, as well as other interactive applications, to produce high-quality maps for various projects. Additionally, you'll capture 360-degree photos of building interiors, contributing to an integrated GIS and collections data system.
- Performs mapping and analysis using ArcGIS and AutoCAD software
- Generate the campus basemap by converting the civil survey CAD file into a GIS shapefile
- Utilize geoprocessing tools to update and enhance existing databases
- Support the Planning and Design team with mapping and data visualization tasks
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Currently enrolled in college
- Proficiency in ArcGIS software
- Strong ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively
- Preferably a junior or senior with coursework or experience in GIS, geography, urban planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or a related field
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
