Your Impact

  • Provide entry-level technical assistance in the design and development of mechanical systems for building and infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with HVAC system design including air distribution, hydronic systems, and temperature controls.
  • Support the preparation of construction documents, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze engineering data from drawings, schematics, and field observations to support project development.
  • Assist in conducting research and site inspections to evaluate existing conditions and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Perform routine engineering calculations (e.g., load calculations) under supervision.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including electrical, structural, and architectural professionals.
  • Ensure work is delivered in alignment with WSP quality, safety, and performance standards.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • 0–1 years of relevant internship or professional experience.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and building systems (HVAC, controls, plumbing).
  • Familiarity with engineering design tools such as AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or co-op experience in consulting engineering or building design.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and standards (ASHRAE, IECC, local building codes).
  • Interest in markets such as healthcare, commercial, higher education, or science & technology.

Compensation:

Expected Salary: $72,700- $100,000

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
