DEPARTMENT: SANITATION JOB TITLE: JANITOR
PRODUCTION STANDARDS:
1. Completes expected volume of work by following the cleaning schedule, being efficient and meeting expected minimum standards.
2. Works with minimum supervision.
3. Pick up fruit on the floors under stemmers, line 8, dryer areas, parabolic screen areas, waste room and other areas as needed.
4. Clean the Elbiscan room, shoveling fruit off the floor and into pans or the waste chute, then washing the floor.
5. Clean plug-ups on the various lines.
6. Empty trash cans into bins.
7. Clean equipment/work areas at end of production to meet Sun-maid and USDA standards for cleanliness.
8. Operate and maintain equipment properly by following directions.
9. Use cleaning supplies according to manufactures instructions.
10. Other duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Must wear safety gear (includes eye protection, hearing protection, gloves and wet suit). Work is exposed to outside elements. Working area is always wet. Use soaps for cleaning.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: Employee must have high school degree or the equivalent and the demonstrated ability to understand, read, and write, in order to read directions, labels, safety signs and related materials. Ability to climb ladders on all decks. Ability to lift, push and pull 75 pounds. Ability to carry pans of fruit up to 50 lbs a distance of 3 to 10 feet. Ability to pull, drag and carry 1” hose. Must have the ability to rake and shovel fruit. Employee must be able to handle heights.
HELPFUL PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in the sanitation department.
