Requirements / Qualifications

California credential required authorizing service in a Special Education setting with Learning Handicapped and/or Mild-Moderate. CLAD Authorization and Autism Specialist Authorization required. CBEST transcript if newly hired in the State of California or if no public school employment within the last 39 calendar months in a California public school

The Claremont Unified School District is located in Southern California approximately 35 miles east of Los Angeles. The community is known for the Claremont Colleges and has a strong working relationship with these institutions. Currently, the District has over 7,000 students in its K-12 program and runs an extensive Adult School program. There are seven unique elementary schools, all have been designated by the State of California as Distinguished Schools, a school for the orthopedically handicapped, an intermediate school, a comprehensive high school, and a continuation school. Vision: Each CUSD student is recognized and valued, inspired to be a life long learner, and prepared to be a contributing member of our global society. Mission: Each CUSD student is equipped academically, prepared socially, and empowered to participate and thrive in a challenging, diverse world.
