Job Summary
Provides general support to the department by working closely with the Count Operations Manager to meet the needs of internal and external guests. Coordinates and trains count operations team members on work duties and departmental policies and procedures; resolving issues as needed; improving department operations through efficiencies, technological enhancements, and development of the staff. Responsible for the timely and accurate count and/or pull of the slot machines, table games, and other revenues generated by the casino, not limited to scanning, removing and replacing currency canisters from assigned slot machines; pulling funds from non-slot locations as directed; downloading information into Management System for accountability; troubleshooting any problems with the download; counting currency and chips; reconciling and recording cash counted through count equipment and actual cash at the completion of the day. - Ensures the timely and accurate pull and count of the slot machines and other revenues while practicing Viejas Guest Service Standards; following Minimum Internal Control Standards, casino and department policies and procedures
- Ensures timely and accurate information and reports are provided to other departments.
- Administers training to the count operations staff. Provides training reports for management on the development of team members.
- Assist in resolving issues or refer matter to supervisor if necessary.
- Communicates and coordinates equipment and applications issues with vendors and the IT department.
- Perform the duties of count operations team member position, not limited to scanning, removing and replacing currency canisters from assigned slot machines; pulling funds from non-slot locations as directed; downloading information into Management System for accountability; troubleshooting any problems with the download; counting currency and chips; reconciling and recording cash counted through count equipment and actual cash at the completion of the day.
- Attends and keeps current on certified trainer training certificate.
- Performs all related ad hoc projects and compatible duties as assigned by management.
- May coordinate the work of count team members and resolve issues or refer matter to supervisor.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- 2 to 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education/experience required.
- Supervisory/leadership experience required.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to operate money counting machines.
- Demonstrated cash handling skills, specifically dealing with weighing, wrapping and balancing coin.
- Must take initiative and demonstrate accountability and reliability
- Highly organized, attention to detail and able to prioritize work load and meet deadline
- Demonstrated good judgment when handling guest issues and complaints
- Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment with a high volume of work.
- Must be able to work flexible schedule.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American money.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
