California State University, Fresno is a public university in Fresno, California. It is one of 23 campuses in the California State University system. The university had a fall 2020 enrollment of 25,341 students. It was founded as a Normal school in 1911, joined the state university system in 1961, and was granted university status in 1972. Its 1,410-acre campus, including the university farm, is located several miles from downtown Fresno.
